Sep 1st  1-3pm Wings & Wildflowers at Prophetstown** --- Bring binoculars & bug repellent! --- outdoor pgmSTPK        Naturalist Mary Cutler leads this walk to visit a fen and prairie at their peak.  butterflies, birds and blooming plants put on quite an end-of- summer display!   **NOTE: Park pass or $6/car PARK ENTRY FEE is required.

Sep 8th  8-10pm Pictures in the Late Summer Sky ---- indoor/outdoor pgmLNC Learn how to find and identify major constellations & asterisms of the late summer sky with George Wyncott (Wabash Valley Astronomical Society) Indoor slide show will be followed by an outdoor search for planets, star clusters, nebulae and constellations, weather permitting.    Bring binoculars & folding chairs for stargazing!

Sep 15th 7-9pm Pharmaceuticals in the Environment & Their Impact on Aquatic Life - indoor pgmLNC Marisol Sepulveda (Purdue Professor of Ecotoxicology & Aquatic Animal Health--FNR) will discuss the major types of pharmaceuticals and personal care products that have been detected in streams and rivers across the U.S. and present some information regarding their impact to fish and aquatic invertebrates.

Sep 22nd 7-9pm Monarch Migration & Conservationindoor/outdoor pgmLNC  Reni Winter (Master Naturalist & monarch aficionado)gives a presentation on monarch butterfly migration and conservation, followed by a demonstration of tagging and releasing monarchs.

Sep 29th 7-9pm Insect Songsters --- indoor pgmLNC   In this presentation on the sounds of insects, Tom Turpin (Purdue Entomologist) will talk about the why and how of insect songs and the species that fill the summer and night air with their clicks, scrapes and hums.  Join us and stridulate along if you like!  (We will be inside for most of the time but may step outside for an actual performance.)

BEEC (Brier Environmental Education Center) In Battle Ground, off Prophet St. close to intersection with N. 9th St.  (Turn into driveway with small "Leona Brier Environmental Education Center" sign.)
  (NOTE: formerly known as the Tippecanoe Battlefield Retreat Center)

MS (Michaud-Sinninger/Cumberland Woods) In West Lafayette -- meet in athletic complex parking lot on Salisbury St. just north of Cumberland Ave.

CLEGG (Clegg Garden) Lafayette, just south of intersection of 200N and 400E (Eisenhower Rd)

MARTELL (Martell Forest) From the Purdue Campus take 26 west to 750W, turn left/south on 750W, go to a T.  Turn left at the T and head down hill to entrance of Martell on left.

TIPP Labs (Eli Lilly) Meet in the baseball field parking lot

HORT(Purdue Hort Park): Meet in parking lot alongside McCormick Rd just north of its intersection with SR 26 in West Lafayette (on the west side of the Purdue Campus).

STPK (Prophetstown State Park): Enter the Park via Swisher Rd (off North Ninth St. just south of Battle Ground) and continue on the park road until you get to the Prairie View Picnic Area

PWA (Purdue Wildlife Area): Take 26 west across the Purdue Campus: 1/4 mile past 750W turn right (north) into gravel drive where big white pines start; park at end of lane for 1pm program (OR JOIN CARPOOL leaving LNC at 12:30pm)

Winterhaven Wildflowers & Native Plant Preserve wants milkweed pods with seeds and will pay a penny a pod for intact milkweed pods. These seeds will be used to help restore the habitat of the majestic monarch butterfly whose larvae rely on milkweed plants for food.  To participate contact:
